This intro class will cover the basics of meditation, necessary to reach and enjoy a state of balance and present-mindedness, where you can let go of regrets of the past or worries of the future.

You will be shown simple techniques which you can take home to use in your daily life. The greatest benefit of meditation comes from regular practice.

We recommend you also sign up for a Going Deeper class if one is available in your area.

"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

In this intermediate class, we will delve further into practical techniques - to deepen your meditation - and into the spiritual aspects of meditation.

Meditation is a practice that can fundamentally change your life and personality for the better. Whether your goal is more harmonious relationships, to manage stress or leadership, or to truly know yourself - your search will be answered in this meditation.

This class will assume that you have previously attended at least one Sahaja Yoga Meditation class. If you have prior meditation experience, you should still attend one of our introductory classes before joining this class.

"The only thing that is needed is the meditation. In meditation you grow. In that spiritually you become higher.... When you reach a state of that maturity, then you do not want to give up your meditation because, at that time, you are absolutely ONE."

- Nirmala Shrivastava

"We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us.Even while the earth sleeps we travel. We are the seeds of the tenacious plant, and it is in our ripeness and our fullness of heart that we are given to the wind and are scattered."

The more we meditate, the more peaceful we feel inside. It is as simple as that, and Sahaja Yoga Meditation makes this experience easy for us to achieve. It yields a powerful, instantaneous state of thoughtless awareness where our mind is calmed as peace floods our body, bringing with it transformative spiritual awareness.

In this program, that experience is complimented by a live musical performance. All our musicians practice meditation in their daily lives, and that quality is reflected in the art.

"Be the change that you wish to see in the world."

- Mahatma Gandhi

We're excited to be able to sponsor world-class musicians to perform free of charge in select communities. Alongside the concert, participants will be invited to experience a state of meditation and the self-knowledge that comes with it.

Our musicians come from many backgrounds, often performing instruments from all over the world (including piano, sitar, cello, oud, vocals, harmonium, tabla, etc.), and singing music both joyful and deeply spiritual.

The Festival of Inner Peace (PAZ) is a multi-city tour of world-class musicians, dancers and artists who utilize uplifting, soothing and life-affirming music and art to connect us to our inner selves.

PAZ is a partner project, which will be touring select cities in the North-eastern United States and parts of Canada.

All of the musicians practice meditation in their daily lives, and offer an illuminating evening of music, dance, art, and meditation.

You can catch up with the Festival of Inner Peace on YouTube, Facebook, or their website.

This project has ended, but local volunteers continue to run free meditation classes around the country.

Love America was a project in August 2018, bringing meditation instructors from around the world to the United States.

In August 2018, Love America brought meditation instructors from around the world to the United States, to share the benefits of meditation as a freely given community service.

Meditation is now widely accepted and practiced across the country. Many know the benefits, but lack the opportunity or motivation to take the first step. Our trained volunteers visited major cities across the USA offering free, easy access classes in workplaces and in the community.

Our instructors consist of young people from across the world. who because of their respect for the great qualities that the USA has advocated and espoused in the last century, have come to the US to share their experiences with meditation, and knowledge of inner peace. Hence, Love America.

About Meditation

Meditation is best understood as a state of ‘mental silence’ in which one is fully alert and aware but free of the unnecessary thoughts or worries that lead to many of life’s daily stresses.

Meditation gives numerous benefits, emotionally, mentally and physically. In recent years meditation has spread across the country. Everyone can verify for themselves the benefits through simple experience, and recent research shows the same.

Our workshops use an experience-focused technique, called Sahaja Yoga ('spontaneous union') meditation. These techniques are simple to learn, and require no prior experience or special equipment (such as yoga mats). All will be explained during the class, and at the end of the class you will receive a pamphlet summarizing the techniques covered.
